These are items used in an office space to provide office functionality. The office furniture is the major item that makes an office look professional and appealing to customers or clients served. They also make an office look official and furnished. There is no way an office can serve as an office without office furniture. They increase the value of an office and make it comfortable to spend a typical 8 am – 5 pm regular working hours on Monday to Friday basis.

Common types of furniture found in a typical office

Office desk

An office cannot be referred to as an office without an office desk in most case scenarios. The major furniture sets that provide a working space, a place to write on, a place to make and answer calls and a place to hold a desktop computer, hold interviews with clients, etc. are the office desks.
Office desks may be made of wood, which is a common scenario, plastic tops, glass tops, or metal tops. Most of the typical office desks provide a flat working surface that may hold a desktop computer and a few peripherals. Some office desks come with lockable drawer compartments used to store stationery and other office items.

Computer carts and stands

These are compact pieces of furniture that when assembled, holds up a computer CPU and a monitor and a few other small computer peripherals. It is an alternative when the office space is limited. They are designed to use the minimal space available efficiently, sometimes they are wheeled to allow for easy relocation around when needed. The downside of it is that they do not have any storage space with them.

Armoire

These are furniture that has been designed to form a storage cabinet or pantry in computer centers. It combines a computer cabinet with more space on top. Their ability to hold all items behind is exemplary.

Table

There are times when a table can suffice for an office desk. Tables have benefits like flexibility, simplicity, and on budget. In the absence of an office desk, a table can do instead because they are easily available.

Office hutch

Hutch may be found together with an office desk, but they provide alternative storage space for books, CDs, and other office stuff.

Office chair

They are pieces of furniture that are synonymous with the office desk. You cannot use an office desk without an office chair. Different kinds of chairs are available in the market today. If you consider a contemporary office, you should have an executive chair, or in the least managerial chair and client chairs, two or three depending on the size of the office space and the number of clients anticipated to be served daily.

Executive chairs are sleek and most expensive chairs of them all. They sometimes feature leather upholstery with a high back. They come with many adjustable to fit any person with any physical characteristics. It can accommodate an array of physical characteristics in a person sitting on with its adjustable. You can raise high or lower down depending on the person sitting. You can also rotate freely of move around with its wheeled base.

Managerial chairs are a step down the executive chairs, although they have similar features apart from sophisticated adjustable features in executive chairs.
Client chairs are the cheapest of them all, and they also vary according to class and the nature of the office. They may have different holding capacities and different budgets.
